Nathaniel Blair was a colonel. He was the husband of Virginia Blair and the founder of the town Blair.
In the year 1630, Blair undertook an expedition to Black Hills Forest, Maryland. He asked a native-American tribal chieftain to support him in his enterprise. This, however, threatened with sabotage and vanished. Despite this setback, Blair and his men built a fort to defend Lord Calvert's colonies against Indian tribes from the east.
